The Excel English Summer Teenage Programme is the ideal course for you if you are an older teenager (aged 14 – 17 years) and you want to:

  • improve your English
  • learn useful study skills
  • make new international friends
  • have experiences at UK universities
  • explore London and parts of England
  • have a great time!

Excel English has been running teenage programmes since 2005, and is now offering an exciting and unusual summer course specially designed for older teenagers and with a very different university taster theme.  The programme is based in our beautiful year round school in Muswell Hill, a fashionable neighbourhood in North London, with convenient underground links into central London and speedy access to the motorway network for trips to other cities.

Your lessons –

  • take place in our modern school building with excellent facilities

  • offer 18 full hours per week of carefully balanced language activities (Levels A2 and above)

  • at higher levels include public speaking, presentations, note taking, time management, and other useful study skills

Your homestay accommodation –

Your activities include –

  • visits to London universities for hands on experience of university study
  • visits to famous London landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square, St Paul’s Cathedral or Covent Garden
  • walking tours such as Southwark, Regent’s Park or Harry Potter’s London
  • attractions such as the London Eye, Tower Bridge Experience, Madam Tussauds or London Dungeon (admissions included)
  • fun sessions like laser tag, ice skating, go karting or bowling (admissions included)
  • evening events & night time London walks
  • weekend trips outside London eg Windsor, Cambridge, Stonehenge & Bath or the Harry Potter Studio (costs included)
  • and of course, shopping

Please note – students will be on a zigzag timetable so will alternate morning and afternoon lessons and activities.

Package fee includes: tuition, accommodation, all meals, insurance, weekday excursions (including travel and admission costs), evening activities and Saturday excursions outside London.  Sunday activities will be organised by your group leader or by our staff.

* Students staying with local friends and relatives have lunch included Monday – Friday but not other meals.  This option does not include evening or weekend activities unless specially booked and paid for in advance.
