Our regular homestay accommodation is a very popular choice for students. Our homestays are located in various districts in North London (Muswell Hill, Crouch End, Hornsey, Wood Green, Bounds Green, East Finchley, Finchley, Highgate and more). These are all residential areas and within easy access of both the school and central London. Most are in zone 3, and a few in zone 4 of the underground system.
Your regular homestay will be clean and will have a good standard of decoration. You will have a single bedroom, unless you have chosen to share with a friend or relative, and your room will contain a bed, desk, chair and storage space for your clothes and belongings. There may be other students staying with the same homestay host, but they will not speak the same language as you. You will share a bathroom with other members of the household.
When you apply for your homestay accommodation, we will place you with the best host for your needs (especially, for example, if you have allergies or special dietary requirements). You can choose from 3 different meal plans depending on whether you want to share meals with your hosts or you prefer a more independent lifestyle – Bed & Breakfast, Semi-Board or Half Board. Some hosts can cater for unusual diets, but this must be booked in advance.

The prices below are for single rooms. If you want to share a twin room with a friend or relative who is also studying at Excel English, you will receive a £10 per week reduction per person on these rates.
£175 per week
This is our most popular option. Your host will provide breakfast and an evening meal every day. This will give you the opportunity to practise your English with your hosts every evening, and many students taking this option enjoy being part of a “family” while they are away from home.
£20 per week
For example, halal, gluten, nut or dairy free. If you need a special diet, you must tell us when you book.
£63
For students staying in their homestay over the Christmas & New Year holiday. December 24 2017 – January 1 2018
£155 per week
This option includes breakfast every day, plus an evening meal 3 times per week – you will agree with your host which evenings you would like them to prepare your evening meals. This option allows more time with your host than if you book bed & breakfast, but is popular with students who wish eat at the many of excellent cafes and restaurants in the local area or in central London.
£140 per week
Your breakfast will be provided every day, but no other meals are included. You may have less opportunity to talk with your hosts as you are not sharing evening meals with them.
This option is suitable for more independent students who prefer to cook their own food – you will be able to cook yourself a meal at times agreed with the hosts, and store your own food in their kitchen.
